Most people know me as a singer-songwriter, record producer, actress, and even as a television host. Most do not realize that my love of music started at the tender young age of five. While I am know for singing, I am an accomplished musician as well. I am capable of playing the guitar, piano, cello, and the recorder. That love of music continued throughout my childhood, ultimately taking me to the University of Toronto where I completed a degree in music theory and composition.
Most people are well aware of my professional career, but this only a sliver of what I am about. My passion includes talking about ensuring positive mental health. Having battled with postpartum depression, I am a strong advocate for talking about the importance of mental health. As well, I strongly believe in giving back to charities. I have been a supporter of the Parkinson’s Foundation, Princess Margaret Hospital, National Ovarian Cancer Association The Hospital for Sick Children, Easter Seals, Variety, MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving), Mood Disorders of Ontario, United Way, Wellspring, Gilda’s Club, Casey House, Covenant House, Ontario Child Abuse Prevention and Zareinu.
When not touring or fulfilling her many charitable obligations, Amy lives in Toronto in harmony with her husband, acclaimed singer songwriter, Marc Jordan and their two children.
